Word Silence Song

Now on hiatus until I get my UU Choir Director feet under me!

Hoping to pick up this thread again soon...

This creative meditation circle gathers to share three processes:

. . . Freewriting on a theme: share your writing if you choose

. . . Sitting in silence together: any style of silent meditation or prayer welcome

. . . Singing simple chants and songs: learn by ear and join as you feel ready

All meetings on Sundays after church-- starting at approximately 12:30, ending at 2:00.

No need to reserve a space-- just drop in.

Free of charge!

Check the calendar page for the next meeting time, theme and location.

The Free Range Singers will soon begin a soothing session of singing songs of healing and encouragement, with the added element of HARP accompaniment by Susan Coppock. The 6-week session is open to all singers, new and experienced, committed and drop-in, and will include optional performances at 2 or 3 public locations and events, including the Day of the Dead festivities at the Davis Cemetery on October 23.

Suggested donation $10-$15 per rehearsal or as you are able. No one turned away for lack of funds. Tuesdays 7-8:30PM, Sept. 20-Oct. 25 at the UU Church of Davis.

Singers from the Free Range Singers & the UU Sparks Choir and the local community teamed up with Rita Hosking to celebrate MLK Day with a community singing event, Where the Grassroots Grow on Jan. 17 & 18 at the UU Church of Davis. This inspiring event raised $3,680 for grassroots organization Davis Community Meals. The event was supported by the UU Church and by singer donations. Local grassroots radio station KDRT also hosted a table at the event and took some great photos. Thanks to all who participated and who attended for making it a success!
