Davis California 95616

Price: $75 for six weekly sessions
Spirit expresses in many ways, including creativity, intimacy with others, and meditative awareness. Join me for a new class that features my three favorite kinds of meditative practice: sitting in silence, writing, and group singing. All three will be undertaken in a nurturing group environment that encourages the quieting of the critical, judgmental mind, and increases inner listening to the body and the creative self.
Come with journal and pen, and expect each session to include a minimum of twenty minutes silent meditation, ten minutes freewriting, and fifteen minutes song or chant. No previous experience required.

The One, the Good, the True, the Beautiful, and the Risible (which means Laughable!): these are five portals called The Transcendentals. They are ever-present in our lives, and when we look for them—in nature, in community, in our very selves-- we can come home to the sacred. In a day-long retreat with Laura Sandage and Gerry Hair, we will take leisurely forays into each of the five, exploring together how we find these always-open doors. Group activities, individual meditative time, and creative invitations may have us singing, laughing, and moving our bodies through space or our pens across paper, as well as pausing to remain blessedly still. Featuring a delicious vegetarian Indian lunch prepared by my husband, Satinder Sandhu. He is famous for his cooking-- you will experience transcendental tastebuds!
